Stakeholder Conference - 22 October 2024
Summary Report

The European Union has invested over €559 million in algae-related projects between 2014 and 2023, through programmes such as EMFF, EMFAF, LIFE, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe. This factsheet highlights the key result of a report on this subject, which we released in April 2025.

This study aims to advance understanding of blue carbon in the EU, focusing on greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting, wetland mapping, and sequestration knowledge.

This roadmap is designed to improve the monitoring of coastal wetland ecosystems, including tidal marshes, seagrasses and mangroves, and manage their carbon storage capacities within European Union (EU) Member States.

The future is green. The future is LIFE leaflet 2025

On 4 February 2025, Trinomics, Ricardo and Blue Carbon Lab organised an online workshop to test, validate and complement the current findings in context of “Studies in Support to the Implementation of the Mission: ‘Wetlands and Blue Carbon’” for CINEA (CINEA/2023/OP/0005).

The Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has conducted this portfolio analysis of EU funded projects in the algae sector. The goal is to provide a more comprehensive and updated picture of the EU's support for algae innovation and development.

The five Strategic Integrated Projects will become part of the EU LIFE Programme, which has funded more than 6,000 green projects since 1992.

This CORDIS Results Pack highlights 15 EU-funded projects addressing the technological, regulatory and social challenges of automated transport systems, paving the way for more sustainable and equitable transport in the future.

The final report presents an in-depth understanding of the distribution, spatial extent, structure and function of the Maritime Protected Areas in the Atlantic, Baltic, North Sea and Outermost Regions.
