Horizon Europe EU Missions: over EUR 230 million available under the Adaptation to Climate Change and Restore our Ocean and Waters calls

In line with the Horizon Europe 2025 Work Programme, the European Commission has launched two new calls for proposals under the Horizon Europe Missions Adaptation to Climate Change and Restore our Ocean and Waters.

EU Mission calls 2025

A total of EUR 233.65 million in EU funding is available under these calls with deadlines on 24 September 2025.

Background

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a total budget of €95.5 billion. EU Missions are a novelty of the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme for the years 2021-2027. They are a way to bring concrete solutions to some of our greatest challenges. They have ambitious goals and will deliver concrete results by 2030.

CINEA is managing and implementing three of the five missions under the Horizon Europe framework programme. These missions are Adaptation to Climate Change, Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030, and 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart cities by 2030.

  • Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030 Mission, on 22 May from 13:00 to 15:00.
  • Adaptation to Climate Change Mission, on 23 May from 14:00 to 16:00.

What are the requirements for applying?

The requirements for submitting a project proposal are detailed in the relevant documents published on the individual call pages.

The submitted proposals are evaluated by independent experts drawn from the European Commission's database of external evaluators. Applicants will receive the evaluation results at the latest five months after the submission deadline. Grant agreements will be signed with the successful applicants within eight months after the submission deadline.
